Psychiatrist
I was born in Maastricht, the Netherlands, and went to secondary school in Belgium. After graduating from VU University medical school in 2009, I started working as a PhD student at Amsterdam University Medical Center, location VUmc. During my PhD trajectory, I examined a stepped care approach targeting psychological distress in head and neck cancer and lung cancer patients. In my free time, in 2011, I completed the bodywork instructor course at VU Sports Center Amstelveen, and thereafter, in 2012, the Official Zumba® Fitness Instructor training at Health Club Gold’s Gym Nieuwegein. In 2014, I moved to Aruba to gain clinical experience as a ward physician at the Dr. Horacio E. Oduber Hospital in Oranjestad. After returning to the Netherlands, I started a residency in Psychiatry at GGZ inGeest in Amsterdam in 2017. During my residency, I developed a special interest in psychodynamic and trauma-focused psychotherapy.
I offer treatment in Dutch and in English.
