Important information for new clients<\/strong><\/p>\n

Below you will find the most important information about starting therapy at Empower. Please read this information carefully before your first appointment.<\/p>\n

Before the introductory meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before your introductory meeting, you will need a valid referral letter from your general practitioner (GP), occupational physician, or another authorized referrer. The referral letter must state that you are being referred to Basic Mental Health Care (Generalist Mental Health Care; GB-GGZ) or Specialized Mental Health Care (G-GGZ).<\/p>\n

Please send us your referral letter after registering, or ask your doctor to send it directly to us.<\/p>\n

You should also bring a valid form of identification to your introductory meeting.<\/p>\n

The introductory meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your first appointment is a no-obligation introductory meeting with one of our coordinating practitioners. During this meeting, we will assess together whether we have the right expertise to help you and whether there is sufficient trust to start treatment.<\/p>\n

After the meeting, you and the coordinating practitioner will jointly decide whether you will begin therapy at Empower. If you decide not to continue, no costs will be charged.<\/p>\n

If you decide to proceed with treatment, the introductory meeting becomes part of your treatment process. We will then begin preparing your treatment and determine which therapist is the best match for your needs.<\/p>\n

Start of treatment<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you decide to start therapy at Empower, you will sign a treatment agreement. This agreement outlines the most important arrangements, rights, and responsibilities.<\/p>\n

Together with your therapist, you will then develop a treatment plan. This plan describes the goals of your treatment and how we will work towards achieving them. If your referral or assessment includes specific recommendations, your treatment will be aligned accordingly.<\/p>\n

Your coordinating practitioner remains ultimately responsible for your treatment throughout the entire treatment process.<\/p>\n

Privacy and confidentiality<\/strong><\/p>\n

To provide you with appropriate care, we process personal and health-related information. We do this carefully and in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.<\/p>\n

As healthcare professionals, we are bound by professional confidentiality. This means that information about your treatment will not be shared with others without your permission. Only with your consent may we share information with, for example, your health insurer, occupational physician, or another healthcare professional involved in your care.<\/p>\n

With your permission, we may inform your GP, referring physician, or another involved healthcare provider about the start, progress, and completion of your treatment.<\/p>\n

In exceptional circumstances, we may be legally required to share information without your consent, for example when required by law or when your safety or the safety of others is at serious risk.<\/p>\n

For consultation about your treatment, we may collaborate with colleagues or self-employed professionals affiliated with Empower. They are also bound by strict confidentiality.<\/p>\n

During your therapy<\/strong><\/p>\n

Throughout your treatment, we will regularly evaluate your progress together and discuss whether your treatment goals still match your needs.<\/p>\n

If you have any questions or are dissatisfied with any aspect of your treatment, we encourage you to discuss this first with your therapist or coordinating practitioner. In most cases, we can resolve concerns together.<\/p>\n

If this is not possible, you may make use of our complaints procedure.<\/p>\n

Costs and reimbursement<\/strong><\/p>\n

Empower applies the fees established by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). Our current rates can be found on our website.<\/p>\n

Whether your treatment is reimbursed depends on your health insurance policy and its conditions. Although we make every effort to meet the requirements of health insurers, we cannot guarantee reimbursement of treatment costs.<\/p>\n

If your treatment is not covered by health insurance, we will inform you in writing about the applicable costs before treatment begins.<\/p>\n

In many cases, we can submit invoices directly to your health insurer. If this is not possible, you are responsible for submitting the invoice yourself.<\/p>\n

If you are using a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), you are responsible for ensuring that you meet the applicable conditions for reimbursement.<\/p>\n

Rescheduling or cancelling appointments<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are unable to attend an appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance.<\/p>\n

Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, or missed without notice, are considered a no-show. In such cases, a fee may be charged. These costs are generally not reimbursed by health insurers.<\/p>\n

In case of a crisis<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you experience a mental health crisis during your treatment and your therapist is not immediately available, please contact your GP, the out-of-hours GP service, or call 112 if there is an emergency requiring immediate assistance.<\/p>\n

After your treatment<\/strong><\/p>\n

When your treatment has been completed, we will conclude the treatment process together. Whenever possible, we will submit the costs directly to your health insurer. In some situations, you will receive an invoice yourself, which you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement.<\/p>\n

General terms and conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n

All treatments provided by Empower are subject to our General Terms and Conditions. These contain additional information about our way of working, your rights and responsibilities, and how complaints and disputes are handled.<\/p>\n
