Do you want to learn to accept yourself as you are? Does a traumatic event recur constantly in your mind? Do you have trouble standing up for yourself? Or have you noticed that you are exhibiting compulsive behaviour? Our therapists will gladly help you in your own language.

What is psychotherapy used for?

Everyone goes through a rough time once in a while. Often people manage to solve the resulting problems on their own or with the help of family or friends. But this is not always the case. If problems have not been solved or have been insufficiently solved, then psychological or psychosomatic symptoms may develop. In this case, it is recommended that you consult with a psychologist/psychotherapist.

Psychotherapy focuses on:

  • solving or dealing with issues
  • finding answers to questions
  • using untapped opportunities
  • developing insights into the past and/or the present
  • developing knowledge and skills
  • developing self-reliance

Psychotherapy is intended to heal you. This means that if there is a problem, then psychotherapy will make the problem bearable/endurable and, if possible, will solve it.

A lot of people have a skewed image of (psycho)therapy. Read more about common misconceptions about therapy on this page.
