General Director

As of January 1st, 2024, I have the privilege of being director of Empower Psychotherapie. A great position in which I can once again put my 30 years of leadership experience in very diverse organizations to use. In recent years I have mainly been engaged in advising and supervising managers (to be).

Besides these activities, I did a master ‘spiritual care’ at the RUG two years ago. This fitted nicely with my theology studies which I completed almost 40 years ago. This master was also a nice basis for a book I wrote last year together with my eldest son. The manuscript is ready and the working title of the book is Onaf Mens?. It can be read as a search for how a person can be satisfied with his or her life when there are challenges.

As my number of years of service betrays, I am a bit older. I have two grown sons and live with my husband and our dogs near Empower’s practice in Groningen. I’m looking forward to being “in the line of duty” again, because in fact, I did miss that in recent years. However interesting the position of advisor or supervisor was, I still felt a bit like I was standing at a distance watching what was happening. That has now changed again and I am happy about that.
